We just added one of the most compact backpacks we could find on the planet. The Booq Mamba Pack holds way more than you think, fits comfortable and looks good. It’s hard to find a bag with just enough room and in a form factor that is minimally pleasing. Perfect for job escape when you want to get some R&R or get away and dream up your next big thing. Also check out the new BUILT One Bottle Tote – It’s a prefect companion to the Six Pack Carrier. Hope you are having a great summer!

Sixu packu!

Summer is here and you know what that means. It’s time to ???? (job escape)! To us, that means more than just leaving the job and kicking back, it’s a great excuse to come up with your next gig and plan to leave the office doldrums forever! Go grab a six pack of of your favorite brew or Red Bull, and get the heck out of there. While you are at it, pick up one of these great BUILT 6 pack totes. They are made from that wet suit stuff (neoprene) and will keep those soldiers chilly.

Currently I am in Williamsburg, MI near Traverse City, close to our fulfillment center. In the past, I would go to a little coffee shop in Elk Rapids for connectivity. With all the noise, limited access to power, and the fact that it’s 15-20 minutes away, I took the plunge and subscribed to the Verizon wireless data card plan. I have never used Verizon, and never had luck with ATT or T-Mobile in the area, so who could blame me for being a little skeptical.

Wow, am I impressed! I am using the UM150 USB Modem and have 3 out of 4 bars! While the drive up from Celveland was spotty to say the least, I am very surprised by the bandwidth in these remote parts. GoToMyPC (a good test of connectivity) works like a charm and it feels as fast as a DSL or cable modem (okay, it’s only about 1/3 the speed).

So far so good and I have 30 days to test drive Verizon before getting a bill or having to commit. Thanks and “Never Stop Working for Me,” okay.

PS – Also getting an iPhone on the 11th. Sheesh, I will be one holy connected fellow :-)

Yes, the 4th of July is a United States holiday that I am indeed proud of. That said, I love the idea of individual independence and being your own Foot Soldier AND General. Wherever you are in the world, we hope you enjoy a thought or inspiration about doing something that you love; free from any constraints (self imposed or otherwise).

I’m going to spend the day doing a little work (part of running your own gig) and spending time with my family and some good friends.

Have a good one!

Jay

PS – Thanks for the great response to the BlackCoat-T Classic. We just about sold out.

I had an interesting conversation tonight and it brought me along to choose this picture above. Its amazing how much of GAI can be lost to stress. I try to do things everyday that allow me to keep from stressing out. I travel a lot so for me it comes down to music :: and :: function . If anyone has been to the airport recently they know how much of a pain it can be and how long the lines are. I need something that has basic style when traveling through the MIDWEST and something that’s functional when hitting up the WEST COAST. Whatever it is they both have to be able to adjust to my mood :: inspired :: intense :: rubic :: whatever. Whatever keeps you balanced I hope you find it, but for me …. I need no extra weight/buttons/glamour/show… just MY MFI.
